IV Therapy Certification

This 30-hour program meets the Florida State Board of Nursing’s IV therapy requirements for LPNs or RNs and is designed to provide a basic knowledge of IV therapy practice. All interested healthcare providers are allowed to enroll to learn the practice of IV insertions as described by Florida state law. Participants receive documentation indicating successful completion of the course. RNs are encouraged to participate as a refresher.

This is a hybrid course that requires guided independent study for the theory portion of the course as well as hands-on lab sessions with an instructor for the peripheral IV insertion and Central Venous access care portions. Students must complete the online portion over two weeks and then meet for the hands-on lab. On the date of the lab, students will also complete their final exam.
